The eight limb/path of Astānga Yogaḥ helps to open energy channels and starts the process of taking your energy up towards the attainment of Samādhiḥ which is where we find our consciousness centralised in the highest chakraḥ, the brahmāchakraḥ at the top of the head. Like a portal to our Divine Self, once this is open, our knowledge is connected into the Universal knowledge and hence we realise Truth.

The ancient name Italy of the peninsula, which is also the namesake of the modern Republic, originally applied only to a part of today’s southern Italy, modern Calabria where our centre is today located.

At the foot of the Sila National Park, a few kilometres away from the Isola Capo Rizzuto Marine Reserve on a property of 25,000 square meters, the Shala Mandala is a place for the practice of yoga and meditation, inside Borgo degli Ulivi Resort, a touristic place immersed in an olive garden facing the Mediterranean Sea, on the south-east coast of Southern Italy.

Surrounded by lush maritime pines, olive groves and eucalyptus trees that overlook the local beach (about 200 meters) and the crystalline Ionian, the centre has two yoga and meditation rooms with wooden floors. Palm trees, bananas, and fruit trees spill over the crystalline sea and the deep colours typical of the Calabrian Ionian coast with a historical territory that dates back to Magna Graecia.

THIS RETREAT IS DESIGNED FOR

We welcome individuals, and families with children to stay with us and practice in our space immerse in nature and enjoy the tranquillity of the surrounding area without sacrificing comfort and well-being. Family-friendly, this retreat is designed for those who intend to stay with us and practice in our spaces, immersed in nature and enjoying tranquillity without giving up comfort and well-being.

Beach umbrella per room is included in the room price;

PROGRAM

DAILY ASHTANGA YOGA FROM SUNDAY TO FRIDAY
EVERY DAY WORKSHOPS IN THE AFTERNOON WITH SIMONA;
COMPLEMENTARY AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES SUCH AS:
Visiting the Sila National Park, Le Castella and the beautiful Village of Tropea.
Visit the Eolian islands according to the weather.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICES

Accommodations and food for 7 nights and 6 days
We start with dinner, we close with breakfast.
6 days of practice with Simona and workshops. Beach ombrella per room.

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICES

Tourist tax of € 1.50 per day (Government taxes) has to be paid upon arrival, in cash;
Tours and extras that aren’t mentioned in what is included.

BORGO DEGLI ULIVI

Our property extends in front of the beach over an area of 25,000 square meters surrounded by an abundance of Palm,  bananas, and fruit trees setting a truly spectacular setting showcasing vegetation native to this area of the  Mediterranean. 

The surrounding nature brings tranquillity to the centre’s unique setting, with views that open out onto the crystalline sea, in deep colours typically associated with the Ionian coast of ancient Calabria. 

The Shala Mandala offers a unique and supportive environment to learn, share and grow together.  Besides your group activities, you can relax and enjoy the beach, swimming, massage, and cultural excursions around the area are all available. A delicious selection of vegetarian and Mediterranean meals are offered including healthy seafood and raw choices.
